The Guadiana river valley and the surrounding plain is one of the driest areas in Portugal and this gives it a special beauty.

The scenic roads that follow the river tell the stories of thousands of years of human activity in the region as they pass by the monuments and architectural traces that date back to the Roman Civilization, the Muslim presence, the Industrial Revolution and the centuries of border relationship between Portugal and Spain.

But each person who passes by also returns loaded with stories from the experience they have had. In 2019 Henry Cole, a television presenter passionate about the motorcycle world, recorded in the region an episode of his program “The Motorbike Show” and about the local roads he commented that he simply cannot get enough of them.

We neither! And what we can most genuinely say about them is to recommend them because after driving them we can't get rid of a smile on our face.
